I vote for the Kohler, but then again, I'm prejudice..... Kohler is to Wheel Horse, like grease is to fried chicken, like maple syrup is to pancakes, like pulled pork is to BBQ sauce........ I'm making myself hungry, but hopefully you get my point. The whole "sound" thing, IMHO, is due largely to the type of baffling in the mufflers and the sound attenuation that results. To get an actual "apples-to-apples" test, remove the mufflers from the 520 and the C-175, and see how a "straight pipe" test might sound. (by the way, my wife says I sometimes suffer from "paralysi of the analysis") I'm just glad they never "muffled" the old 1930s/1940s old John Deeres farm tractors.... there is a true classic sound, and probably how many of us RS folks relate to the Kohler "music". Agree or disagree, or have I inhaled too much Seafoam fumes?

Our newest addition to the family arrived on February 21.....this is child number 4 so we now have 3 girls and 1 boy. We named her Annabelle Marie. Pictured below is baby "Belle", myself and Tiffany (wife), and our other 3 children Kailyn, Ellie, and Kaleb. I am going to have a lot less time for the horses now that the family has gotten larger so check out the classifieds I am letting a few go but kinda wishing I hadn't sold my 4 wheel wagon since I can only fit 3 in the 2 wheel wagon as you can see from the picture below.

I often hear comments about how the Onan is the best sounding motor on our Wheel Horse's. I have two video's of two of my tractors for you to compsre and see what you think. One is a C-175 With a 17hp Kohler Series 1. I got the C-175 from Stevebo that I believe Butch now owns. I still have my 520. We have all heard about the Series 1 oiling issues a zillion times (just like all of the Onan issues) but this Series 1 ran as strong as my Onan 20 and in my opinion, the Kohler sounds better! What say you? C'mon, be honest! Lol!

If the tractor is strapped down properly there is no need to leave it in gear, but with that said I almost always leave them in gear to keep them still when strapping or unstrapping the machine, again if strapped down good it can't move and will cause no problems.

Don't give "the man" any ideas.....I read an article that since we (in PA of course) are using less fuel the fuel tax revenue is shrinking. There is talk of a per mile tax as a way of recouping that lost money.... Conserve...conserve....now we will tax you for that great effort.

I went on the toro site and filled in the customer enquiry form, they sent me a headed toro reply and I used that. You are supposed to get the authority of a club for these things, but with 3 years of research, over a hundred sets of decals and the backing of red square, I am probably one of those authorities - and when I get stuck I can always rely on Richard (anglotraction) Mark

There are lots of stories of the use and legalities, I would agree with your comments Andy though... I have two road registered horses, my GT14 and c101. I have had letters of authenticity from Toro in the US to give me an age and country of manufacture. As ours are shown they are already insured with the NFU. So then it's a case of getting form v55 from the dvla and filling in the details. I then go to my local dvla office with letter, pics, insurance, form and 55 quid. Within a week the tax disc comes and a few days later I get a v5. I did mine so I could do the evening runs at some of the shows, though haven't joined in yet. The more astute may have noticed me on the road in the snow ploughing videos :)

Hi much kerosene do I put in during the flush? Do I fill it all the way up to the top of dipstick rod? Or do I stay to the appropriate level on the actual dipstick??
