2 pointsA plastic 55 gallon drum half full of water works well but it is a little cruel for my taste I would rather use a pellet rifle from my easy chair and save grocery money. I am kinda partial to them as table fare anyway. And besides as many peanuts as they get they may taste like a snickers bar or a payday!!!!

1 pointWell, I dont think they were talking about a "normal" fence that is open in the top.. because yeah, it obvious a squirrel can climb any fence.. when they said: 1. fence them in so the squirrels cant reach them, I pictured it as a houseplant *completely* fenced in! sides and top.. but perhaps they could have worded that better.. 1 pointThe Onan 520-8 diagram shows 2 nipples, 1 elbow, and a cap on the oil drain. Mine has one nipple and a cap. Run down to the supply and purchased the missing elbow and 4" nipple. This'll make oil changes much easier! What should I use for thread (pipe) sealant on the pipe threads? Regular Teflon® pipe dope (paste) sealant? Below, less the hood, is the first sprint this Stallion has taken in two years! Loved the power! The hood is back, blasted, inside of the hood painted. Then the outer hood, and a new set of decals from the Vinyl Guy. He does a great job too!

1 pointI guess anyone can add information to Wikipedia; in the evaluation box on there, they ask if you'ld like to contribute and your experience, I submitted some information on RED SQUARE, they evaluated it for a few weeks and then posted it on the Wheel Horse information page. Seemed very easy, don't know how they confirmed it, but it's there now. Glen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_Horse

1 pointThanks Trouty. (Your not Trouty from The hull Truth a few years ago, are you?) I'm pretty sure it has the pink ATF stuff in it now. But I'm draining it all out, new filter and will refill.

1 pointMaybe try feeding them !! I feed sunflower seeds to small animals and the only trouble i had was with chipmunks digging in the garden. That stopped when i let one who had moved in, stay . because it became his territory he chased the others away. Never had trouble with ATV's or tractors or old truck parked in back. Sunflower seeds are alot cheaper than $3000 .00

1 pointYou must becareful hanging that kind of weight that far out from the block without some extra support near the elbow up to the stack. Broken blocks happen much easier than you realize. I gave up on stacks, to much exhaust in the face, burnt hands or arms when not paying attention to the hot muffler behind or near me. I would recommend picking up one of the horizontal muffflers from a 312-8/314-8/416-8 with the single cylinder engine. Nice nelson muffler, quiet with forward facing turnout. Same basic design as the 520's muffler but a tad smaller and designed for the Kohler exhaust pipe position. Would quiet it down and not put undue stress on the block. Mike

1 pointHi my name is Mark. I am 44. This year my wife, Becky, will have put up with me for the 25th year. We have four kids, one boy and three girls. Ages are 24, 22, 21, and 19. What were we thinking? Two have graduated from college and the third is a sophomore. I was born and raised in southeastern Michigan just north of Toledo, OH. We have lived in MI, CO, and now SC. I started my working life as a carpenter. In 1999 I had the opportunity to take a position as a General Manager of a components plant(wood roof and floor trusses). I have been doing that since. Hobbies are fishing, hunting and woodworking. The wheel horse bug bite my when I was a freshman in high school. My stepdad had one at our cabin in northern Michigan. I always volunteered to cut the grass whenever we went north. Since I see dogs have been brought into this thread I will share that tomorrow is the one year anniversary of having to put our beloved golden retriever down who had cancer. She was only four years old.

1 pointThat's all they're going to need. You will want to clean the shafts some, emery cloth. Of course, new hardware during installation. I would use stainless steel and Never-Seez® fo' sure!

1 pointI'd just let the ATF in there....motor oil suspends contaminates and holds them so they can be filtered. This is OK but the filter is at the end of the flow in this case. ATF will let the contaminates settle so they can be drained. IMHO

1 pointHot rodders have been dimpling combustion chambers for decades for the same effect, nothing new. Companies making factory and aftermarket heads have changed the geometry of the intake and exhaust ports to introduce the swirl effect for the same reason. Want something interesting? Investigate the "homiginozation" effect publicised, tested and proved by Smokey Yunick in the mid 80's and buried by the big three. And yes, Al Gore invented Mother Nature, heating and cooling cycles and solar flares, so he knows what he's talking about. :ychain:

1 pointAdd on Grease fitting. Picket up and older rider. When repairing the flats on the front I found it had no grease fittings on the front axle’s. I found that most front wheel rims are two part design that have a small space in-between and are welded together with a tube. So I just drilled a hole, turned in the grease fitting. Reached in side the tube with the Dremel tool and cut a small slot so the grease can pass to the shaft and bushings. Jeff

1 pointThe parts list has them as 3/4" long. With the older tractors the parts list actually tells you what the bolt is, not just the part #.

1 pointToday the wife and I set out for the first long distance pick up from Mike (sorekiwi) east of Cleveland Ohio. Mike it was great to meet you in person after all the e-mails and messages we've shared over the last couple years. I'm going to get the tractor out of the truck in the morning and try to get her going... On our way back we stop to get gas and food in Mansfield and the wife spoted this. After seeing it I just had to take a picture of it and yes its a RJ-35 with a K-90 and it was all there. Hey John (Brrly1) I found them hubs you need for your RJ, you'll just need a 12 foot ladder...
