    its a 1963 953 in pretty good shape. The motor turns over good and has good compression, only missing a few parts, head lights and starter generator. the serial number on it is 62-533. any help with headlight would be great. thanks

    Just a few finishing touches to go. Needs decals and the letters painted plus that little id plate between the throttle/choke. Runs like a champ and i cant wait to get it out in the yard.

    We went back down to the woodworking show in Indianapolis today as my friend Steve wanted to talk more with the rep for the CNC woodworking station. I always sign up for the give aways, but never win anything. That all changed today. I won the grand prize, a brand new Powermatic band saw, the black and gold aniversery model, valued at $1500! While I am that huge of a woodworker, a band saw of some kind has been on my wish list for awhile for my model train hobby and I would love to build a wood shop. My wife and I both learned to turn a pen at the booth selling supplies to make pens. I will post up some pics when I get it put together, gonna have to reorganize my garage shop to fit in it. Gonna be way to cold this week to do that. Guess I am gonna have to work on insulating my garage so I can work out there more often. I was proudly wearing my Wheel Horse hat when they took the picture of me with the company rep at the presentation. MIke

    got a call wed. night from the brother of a friend. they are into cleaning out old farms & places for the scrap. so i saved this 310-8 from going to the crusher. looks like the engine was out for a rebuild & somthing happened. all the pto clutch pulleys & parts were wired to the frame as well as the drive pulley& mower mule drive & belt. the gas line was plugged off & the tank doesn't smell varnishy. one front tire goes flat & it had a 12volt fan bolted to the hood . there wasn't a mower deck but for $75.00 dollars i couldn't pass it up! then while i was leaving i bought an onan twinn & a kohler magnum vertical shaft for 5 dollars apiece. SCORE ! the pictures are after a quick wipedown with a rag dipped in the parts washer. the other 310-8 towed it back to it's new home in the tractor shed. so now i am on the lookout for a complete 10-14 hp k series or magnum to put this back together. come on whcc in june.     here is my tractor this is the 753 export model of 1963-1964 it is one that in the past the large pond is crossed I took him one year ago on an auction site I was quite surprised that something like this was for sale the is indeed the oldest horse in the collection after many inspanigen we found the wheel horse transport to belgium to come all the way from the south of france I think one of the best tractors that built them LIVE THE ROUND HOOD!!

    Great pictures Craig...I think you are very lucky to still be here. Can you carry a cup of coffee yet with the crutches? When I had my knee surgery, I was laid up like you are. That is the first time I saw the Tella Tubbie thing. When they did their little TV skit...it was about a bunch of little kids puddle jumping in the rain. They were destroying puddles. It made me realize how sometimes we miss the really simple pleasures in life, and how great it is to be a kid. At that time, I would have given anything to be able to do that again. Guess what...I make a point to do that anytime it rains anymore...also snow angles (although we have not had snow yet). Take your time healing Mate. :)

    We all know how light in the loafers round hoods are in the front.Using the back blade on my 704 created some interesting wheelies. I thought about a tombstone. They are real cool but cheap that I am I wanted something different and more practical. I can use suitcase weights on my C-160 and Power King as well. Bracket in primer. I'm using the front quick hitch holes so i put in a spacer for the front holes in the bracket. I liked it so much mocked up I made one for the 160. A bit different so it will come off easy for mowing. Bracket on the 704 Finished Bracket also doubles as a handy place for my I.D. tag

    I did some Horse tradin with good buddy Stevebo. I was wanting a real clean tractor so I can leave my 520 at my Dads house for the mowing season. This super mint original 85 310-8 will be the one I cut the grass at my house with. It runs like new, I seriously doubt if it even has 200 hrs on it. My son Cole is already hinting that he'd really like to add it to his collection. I'm gonna take real good care of it.

    Early morning run.... Both are C-105's but one of them had a "surprise" Can you guess??....shouldn't take long. Got both for $350, they BOTH run excellent, both have rear axle brackets...42" deck, and 36" deck

    So here's the internals of a modern electromechanical type hourmeter. It consists of a set of counter wheels, the tenths of an hour wheel is advanced by the solenoid driven by an electronic circuit. The eight pin chip isn't a 555 timer, it's a microcontroller which is a minimalistic computer on a chip. It has a tiny memory that can retain a simple computer program 'flashed' into it. It also has some memory for the program to use and an internal clock to run the computer. In this case the program will be making it count pulses from the clock with an end result that it produces an output pulse to drive the solenoid every 6 mins. Getting back to the thread - this one at least has a diode in the power line to the board that protects it from the external power leads being connected the wrong way round. The terminals are marked + and - but if incorrectly connected then it won't operate but no internal damage will be done. Andy

    Nice score! I can honestly say my wife doesn't have a clue as to how many tractors I have. Some things are better left unsaid. Besides, they all look the same to her, she thinks she is seeing the same ONE all the time anyway. CLUELESS.

    I got a few of the herd out today since it is sunny and warm! I decided to put my nice old pair of early WH Hubcaps that I got a couple of weeks ago on a tractor. I put them on my one owner 603 Special. They cleaned up well but maybe not nice enough for a show tractor. This nice old WH was owned by a little old lady of 83 years old. She couldn't pull the recoil starter no more so she had an electric start Tecumseh engine installed on it years ago and a set of fenders and tool box. I got the original 6 hp Tecumseh engine but I also like the way it is now and it's a cool part of it's history! How is it you always stop the machine and the Wheel Horse emblems are in the perfect location?!

    I had these old rusty WH hubcaps sitting on a junky 312-8 for years. Stray cats were peeing on the rear ones and rusted them out pretty bad. The fronts were covered in grease from over greasing the front rims(lucky for me!). They cleaned up like new ones. I figured the rears were junk anyway, so I took a wire wheel to them to see what would happen. You can't ruin something that is junk in the first place. So it took awhile but they cleaned up fairly descent considering how they looked before! I took 4 OOOO steel wool on them after the wire wheel, they look pretty good afterall. I mounted them on my nice 310-8 Speed that I got from callen on this site. Looking good Chester! Keith

    Had to go watch my Daughter cheer tonight, but before we left I got the left fender all tack welded up, and the holes drilled to mount it. Inner rail mounted, and upper brace on. Inner brace installed after getting the fender all tacked up, I pushed it outside to clean up, so I took a few pics. I figure by the time I have the fenders and footrest all welded up, I'm going to have about 25 or so hours into them, but I think it was worth it, I hope sometime this weekend to get the fan guard all built.

    Thanks for getting back to me. I'd like one for my 314h. Original long style is perfect.I have about 600 lbs in my weight box on the 522x loader.. So I need to make a hitch/platform combo for that tractor. Gonna have to take my time and figure it out. How do I go about making payment? PayPal or check let me know.

    I'll just jump in and echo what Glen said - these hitches are terrific quality, well designed and worth every penny! It's one of the best aftermarket add-ons I've been able to find for my tractors! Duff :thumbs:

    I got out of work early today, did some shipping of parts I sold, took my gas cans and filled them @ $2.98 a gal. when I got home I did dishes for the wife, she likes it when I sneak in and do them before she gets home from work, one less thing she has to do, as she helps take care of her mother who had a stoke a few years ago and is partly paralyzed and can't talk, and takes care of us here at home, running kids to this and that and everything else, so doing dishes now and then is no big deal. Then I went to the shop to start working and decided I needed to clean up first, I like having the scrap carpet on the floor it is soft on the knees and warmer, I just use the shop vac on it. much better. When I was in town I picked up a new tub of grease as I knew I was going to put the hubs on and was about out, when I opened it this is what I found about half empty, you can see the tin on the bottom, just like everything else in this world cheap. These are the trailer hubs I'm using, I picked them up about a year ago, with the front rims I'm using. For those that don't know what a 520 front spindle looks like, and why it is so easy to install hubs, here is a pic, as you can see it basically is a trailer spindle. With hub installed, even with packing the bearings it only took about 45 min. to install both sides. Back spacing with rims that are equal spaced, the rims on my 520 have less back spacing, but these will put less pressure on the spindles. I normally mount the tires from the back of the rim so if I scratch them it's on the back, but these rims the center drop was in the front so I had to do it from the front, old school with soapy water and a tire spoon, I had the rims powder coated a year + ago when I did the rears. The tri ribs are 16x6.5x8 the stock Dico 520 tires are 16x7.5x8 I think the tris will help it set more level with the rear tires I have. All mounted and ready to go, this makes front tire swaps nice, no messing with the bearings or grease. I think the black hood tractors look so much better with the forward swept axle, it helps the big nose look right, and not stick out so far. When I set up the steering I knew being longer wheel base it would not turn very good, so I planned and got it so it turns on a dime, when pushing it around one rear tire will stay in one spot while the tractor piviots on it, this will be nice, and it turns just as sharp the other way. Stock C-195 rear tire 27x I think 9.5?x 15 ags I'm using 29x12.5x15, did I say I like big tires!!! I like the stance of it, it is 6' 8" long from front of tire to rear of tire, and 47" wide in the rear, the steering shaft needs to be cut more yet. You can see in this pic I need to move the exh. a bit closer to the hood, and lower. Well I'm headed back out to do something, not sure what???
