3 pointsGood news! I just talked to my brother and it was his computer operator's mistake so he is reprinting them all and will be sending out all of them from there. You should be getting the correct ones before Christmas. As for the computer guy, after he gets them finished, he has to stand out side in front of the shop naked for 2 days. :)

2 pointsFor those of you who might not have the energy to type out the entire word, I am offering the following to be copied and pasted wherever you see fit - and totally free of charge. Take only one - or as many as you like: Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas I'm not here to endorse or promote religion, nor am I a religious fanatic - but I do respect the true meaning of the holiday. Besides......... Some of us really don't want to deal with an X on Christmas. Merry Christmas! :ychain:

2 pointsOne of the very few pictures I have of the Wheelhorse when it was new. It came off the truck and I put some chains on it and put it to work. 1605 hours and still going strong. And here it is 25 years later ready for Snow. Maybe this Friday!

2 pointsLet me start by saying, I felt a little guilty this year. I've been spending a lot of money on my garage, buying tools and storage cabinets, etc. But, I've been thinking about the winters we get, normal snowfall is 150 inches and how much longer can I expect to climb on and off my 314-A with snowblower and cab. So after consulting the boss, I bought a 72" hydraulic plow system for my Ranger. Here's a picture just as the snow was starting to fall. Between the 314 and this, nothing will get in my way. Merry Christmas to me MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.

1 pointHello All, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Years and whatever else I missed.... I went big on myself this year... been looking around and finally found myself a Harley in my price range... Its a 1996 with 12,800 miles, its a 1200 with a 5 speed and has several aftermarket goodies. Cost me $2605 plus $100 in gas to get it and another $80 in misc.... Haven't had a bike in 12 years and the last one was Japanese... this bike is the very basic Harley but man I'm tickled pink..... Mike and I where blasting up and down the street until we got sick of freezing ourselves to death. C'Mon Spring!!!!! It got backed into the garage next to the 'Horses..... Another piece of American Iron added to the fleet! So what did you buy yourself this year?? Tony

1 pointI think I am going to mount it under my 653 and see how it does running my log splitter that I usually run on the Farmall H. Here is my son helping me run the splitter, I have taught him the dangers of the PTO...he just sits on the tire and runs the controls while I load the logs.

1 pointA while back I purchased one of MattD's Hydro Foot Pedal kits for my 416, and installed it on the tractor. Last night and today here in Maine we got between 6 and 8 inches of snow, so today I got to play with the toys, so to speak. I had never used my single stage blower on the tractor, as I picked them up last spring after the snow melted, but I had used the tractor for mowing with the original Hydro shift lever between the legs. All I can say about the foot pedal with the snow blower is WOW, this is GREAT! The last thing I needed today was the need for a 3rd hand and arm. The foot pedal makes going back and forth and stopping just plain FUN! Anybody on the fence about this mod needs to get off now and get one of these. I also installed an electric motor to turn the shute on my tractor and will post a pick when I find my iPod. I wanted to take some video of the tractor in action today, but couldn't operate the iPod and the tractor at the same time by myself. Thanks again to Matt for this great modification!

1 pointIt's worth trying...they usually get knocked loose like that by someone hitting the starter. I have a starter from my C111 that has the mounting bracket broken off but the rest is good you can have it if it will help you out PM your address and I can send it out this week.

1 pointYep, Thats what the vikes Super Bowl Trophy case alright!! Pretty hard to disagree with that. Thats why the Vikes don't under stand the Half full/ Half empty concept... It's always empty behind the glass for them and their hands seem to be empty when they want to run for a touch down. Still can't stand the packers... they have another problem....They're full of it!! Was in Chicago on sunday and the Bears Fans are the Greatest to talk to!!!! DA Bears

1 pointAnother great masterpiece from Terry AKA The Vinyl Guy!! When I got my 520-H from the original owner, he had the manuals, maintenance sticker,Onan engine tag and lo and behold a paper Chemlawn/Wheel Horse ad. After I posted a picture of it on RS, Terry offered to reproduce it into a poster and look at the results! Hats off to Terry and all the work he does!!!!

1 pointhttp://www.redoyourhorse.com/servlet/the-276/1989-VINTAGE-WHEEL-HORSE/Detail#itemadded Terry has added the 1989 (I thought it was 1988 as my 520-H was a left over model and sold in 1989) Wheel Horse Banner to his website. that is a reproduction from a dealer paper ad. I have seen some previous newspaper ads that look the same but this has some color added. It is hanging in the garage and everyone is commenting on it as a real blast from the past!

1 pointRon - I think this site is probably your best resource for finding the Wheelhorse models prior to when Toro bought them. One thing to keep in mind is that even though Toro bought Wheelhorse, they pretty much continued to make the same tractor - except with Toro added to the logo later and a change at some point to Toro red in paint. We all bash Toro for killing off the Wheelhorse garden tractors but I think they did a pretty good job of keeping our "classic" tractors intact until the bitter end. Another thing Toro has is outstanding documentation of these tractors, manuals, parts lists, etc. You can go to their website and the master parts viewer or download the manuals in PDF format for free. But I think that rather than adapt a Simplicity deck to a Wheelhorse, you might consider adding to your fleet a dedicated mowing Wheelhorse. Can't have just one... Good luck, Bill

1 pointEven though I've had my 857 Wheel Horse for 15 or so years, I am new to this site. The 3 pictures show some of my modifications. They are taller front spindles, larger rear wheels, spring seat, individual fenders, rerouted drive belt and modified belt guard, and in the summer, the lift handle for the snow plow is used as a hand clutch, which is great for the grandkids. I don't have a mower deck for this tractor, but I am looking to either up grade the engine to a 10HP - if it will fix - and buy a 42" side discharge deck. Has anyone out there tryed doing this? OR, I may just sell the 857 and buy a 10 or 12HP Raider or Charger and have fun restoring/modifing it. Is there a site that documents the different models and the changers the factory made down throught the years? For example; when was the deck drive moved from behind the front wheels to in front of the wheels and why? I also own a '64 110 JD, a '66 B10 AC, and a '89 4016 Ingersol, all restored and used daily/weekly.

1 pointAnd for $600 bucks I would have passed too. The slick part of this setup, I can swap it between two tractors with reciever hitches on them or use it on my Artic Cat ATV if I need or want.

1 pointTony, Back in 06 I had my bike built and it was finally done in February !!! Needless to say I had NO problem going for a 1 hour ride all dressed up in my snowsuit. I believe it was about 28 degrees that day. You should have seen the heads I turned pulling into dunkin donuts for a coffee. I felt like the guys on dumb and dumber with frozen snot coming out of my nose. Anyways nice bike and really good price for sure. My Christmas gift to myself is my avitar.

1 pointI use a ready heater to thaw them out, if it just going to set unused drain it and fill with motor oil till you need to use it, I've seen them freeze and break the trans case.

1 pointMerry Christmas and a Happy New year guys! These old bones really get stiff this time of year-but just the same- I can't wait for the first plowable snow. The Grandsons fight with the old man for seat time-but this ole Illini is not done yet! Like "Cheers"- its just nice to have a place to visit each day-"where everybody knows your name". Thanks-Al :text-merryxmas:

1 pointI'm not sure that this applies to the later Rangers as well, but a normal short frame tractor plow will fit on an early Ranger with no problems. Guess I'll find out this weekend if it still works with my duals!
-
1 pointOK Craig, will do. I'm already excited thinking about mowing next Spring :)

1 pointSince August!!??!! just kidding I soaked the blades on my 48" for like 2 months before they came off. didnt want to use a torch. ended up using liquid wrench and beer...not in the that order!

1 pointYes I can believe it Stevebo, I'll have to track down a Clinton engine. I hope my other RJ35 is a later production '55, it has the black rear rims and the silver front rims and it did have the RJ58 style of steering wheel and not the cast iron one used by the older RJ's. That wheel doesn't fit on the shaft like it should, it doesn't go down so the top of the shaft is flush with the top of the steering wheel center peice. So there is a gap of about 3/8 of an inch. I don't know if any other 55's have that steering wheel and if so is there a gap like mine? Or should mine have the cast iron steering wheel? But anywhoo, the hole in my early production RJ35's hood stand, will have to be welded up. It also looks like all of RJ35 Hunter's holes are drilled off to the left and not centered like my single hole. So I'll have to weld it up and grind it down. The saga continues...KJ
