http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WB14_vyxSuE&feature=plcp This $200 C/L, C-160 powerhouse hopped on for a faassst ride home with me today. Included the weights, and a 48" deck. Did I say...runs like a champ too? Needless to say...I couldn't be happier. Finally...my first big block Kohler.

Weather tomorrow is Sunny. Cold front limits the high temp to 68 degrees. I might have to kick it old school on the WH 312-8speed. I need to cut at least 3 acres. The JD325 will sit in the garage, but I might let the WH417 and JD140 H3 and Cub Cadet 1650 sit in the Sun for a while on display B)

Looks like they can't even stand to look at each other. I think that bike is smiling?

I love music, probably more than i love spending time in the barn wrenching. This is only a small number of the guitars and audio gear i have. I love vintage anything (not to mention as we all know on this forum, things aren't made like they used to be) so i collect/repair vintage audio gear from the 50s, 60s and 70s. I am also a believer in the superiority of analog audio, vinyl being the best. most new music i buy on vinyl and have a collection of albums totally somewhere between 200 and 300 LPs. the last picture is of my basement shop and the pieces that are on deck for repair or use

Just wanted to update on my resto project. A few people said it world be easier just to buy another deck. But this tractor has been in the family for over 30 year and I think it deserves to be resurrected. It just needs a little tlc and a lot of wire from my mig welder. Q My daughter will be plowing sidewalks with me this winter and she will be the 3rd generation using the '71 raider14. Would like to hear any comments any one would like to share.

The 74 & 75 had the flip up rear fender pan, hood ornament, and no rockshaft for the rear lift. The 76 & 77 had the solid mount rear fender pan, no hood ornament, & used a rockshaft for the rear lift.

That is what I use in spray cans, and if and when I paint with a cup & compressor, that WILL be the paint I use.

Charles that might be true about the 325 but I'll never find out for myself. As you know, some of us just like to sit back and kick it old school. :ychain:

I do not have a problem admitting something that is true. Wheel Horses are great tractors and I feel are more heavy duty, but the JD 325 is much more comfortable to mow with. Plus I got a killer deal on it. It came with a front mount dethatcher, snow thrower, deck, power flow bagger, and dump cart for $1000. They normally sell for a lot more than that! The John Deere 325's are not box store tractors. They cost almost $7000 new. However they are not as heavy duty but are far more ergonomic when it comes to mowing.

You can use your idea of studs and nuts to to get the correct length for the spacers. Adjust the nuts on the studs until the belt guard is just short of touching the pulleys and then measure the distance to get the spacer length. This will custom fit them to YOUR tractor. Small variations in where the engine is mounted on the frame and where the pulleys are on the shafts can cause the belt guard to rub. That's why there are many guards out there that have been worn completely through because of rubbing the pulleys.

HOLY $&!T "Down goes Frazier" That guy was obviously pushed to his limit and blew his stack. She definitely needed to be dealt with but that was a little drastic.

Winter bike storage!!!!!!!!! The dog looks pissed. The dog is thinking, "That's odd! They got pissed when I left a spot on the carpet!" it has since been banished to the garage to leak oil all it wants.......LOL...but I should have taken a picture of Cheryl's face when she walked in the house and saw the bike in the living room!!!!!! Much funnier!!!!!!

Off brand stack. Power King 2414. Came with a pepper pot that blew exhaust all over my loader hoses. Extended the pipe with some scrap chrome moly, used a Gravely rear engine muffler from Napa, raincap from TSC and a stainless Handicap bathroom bar from a dumpster at work.
