2 pointsGo to the "Library" view of your photos. In the upper right corner of the screen, there will be a link labeled "Switch back to the original Photobucket". Press it and give them a reason you switched back. I did. The new look really was a PITA and not nearly as intuitive as the original look.

1 pointI have a 1976 D-250 and that tractor can do anything I put it up against. I use it to plow snow with every year, and it plows very will with the tractor style tires on the back. The only problem with mine is that the steering is very lose on it, but other than that I think they are great. Just kind of hard to find parts for. If you want to see my collection you can go to www.brandonswheelhorsestables.com .

1 pointthe 1054s are cool tractors but their unibody design kind of makes them a pain to restore if you look at martins restore you will see what you too will probably have to do. that being said i have a parts tractor that has some of the stuff you are missing if you are gonna redo it good luck

1 pointThe 1054 hood will work just the same. A GT14 hood is the exact same stamping but with hinges instead of bolts to fasten it on.

1 pointWow Steve it looks like you don't want a perfect week of picks! Somehow I feel that Illinois will still lose this week! :happy-smileyinthebox:

1 pointI replace the very worn rubber mounts on my Raider 10 (with a C-121 engine fitted) with some ally mounts I turned on the lathe... Best move I could of made.. No longer do my teeth and the hood rattle in time with each other, it feels like a new Wh

1 pointPat, a few answers for you Testing rectifiers - RR's can be "bench tested" but are best tested by their "live" performance on the tractor. The official RR tester costs over $100 and only tests at a very low charge current. Good place to purchase new RR - eBay has several compatable models in the sub $30 range. There are also vendors on this site who will sell used RR units. Compatability ? - on this style RR, compatability is usually correct size and correct amperage and correct pinout = correct RR unit. RR's of this style are compatable over different manufactuers (Deere, Allis, Case) RR's of the same physical size and pinout will be compatable in a wheelhorse system. Wiring Connectors - most folks will discard the original style connector housing if melted and just use crimp on spade wiring terminals. Individual terminals will work fine. Useable RR's with erroded terminals can be repaired by soldering wires directly to the "stubs" left on the RR body. Wiring Diagram - I don't have the manual drawing but here is an image I created to help visualize the way the wires are routed. The two terminals marked "AC" on the RR are interchangeable. Just connect the stator wires from the engine to either "AC" terminal. click image to enlarge The wires / connector melting on the RR unit is typical of what corrosion in a high amperage circuit can facilitate. Instead of a clean, tight electrical connection passing current without heeat buildup, corrosion at the RR can cause heat to deveolp and be highly localized at the terminals on the RR unit. Hot terminals then melt the wires attached and the connector they are mounted in. You may find attaching new terminals on the stator wires (coming from inside the engine) and a a new wire and terminals between the RR unit and the ignition switch may bring your current RR unit back to life. Make certain you also clean the 3 terminals on the RR too. I have had success with saving RR's that have had their terminals completely eaten away by corrosion and heat. Next door neighbor on a fixed income brought me this one and didn't want to pay the $125 either. I sent this one back to him with NO CHARGE on the bill.

1 pointToday being MLK holiday- admission to the Museum was free. The grandsons have been after me to show them "The cars that I built". Of course , I told them, I didn't build the whole car-just an important part of it. As my luck would have it- Try as I might, I couldn't coax these old bones to get moving-too much pain from old gridiron hits and others. So they went with my adult grandson Lance and had a good time-they took a few pics that brought back memories of good times gone by. I was priviledged to work at Avanti both under Newman & Altman owership & Steve Blake. My area of expertise was to completely dress & assemble the complete engine and transmission assembly for placement in the frame. Each assembly took 6 1/2 hours to complete. When Steve Blake took over-we were making one car a day. I also got to build the engine & trans assembly for the first ever Convertible-sold to George Hamilton- the actor & shipped to California-this car was on a TV show too I believe. He wanted to increase production to 2 cars a day- he wanted to establish a network of dealerships. Up til then, you ordered, and picked up your car at the factory. I was given the task of redisigning the engine assembly bay so I could double my production. After a few days and some changes in the way I moved-I did it. I could just barely complete 2 assemblies in 8 hours. I was proud to put my stamp on each assembly of what was nearly a hand built car. The factory was featured in a " ROAD & TRACK " magazine in 1984. The magazine paid me $1 for permission to print something about me building the engines. Here the boys pictures-one of which was ANDY GRANITELLI s car that broke 29 speed records at Bonniville and was labeled "Worlds Fastest Production Car" oh yes their were some wheel horses there too Thanks for looking- wish I could have walked enough to have gone- but I have the smiles on their faces when they talk about "Grandpa's Cars"-Al
