5 pointsI used four 1/2" threaded rods, the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket, and a bag of concrete mix. Use the wheels as a template to drill the 4 holes in the bucket and as a jig to position the rods while pouring the concrete. Dbl nut both sides of each wheel. Wts. are 35 - 40 lbs. Mine have been working for a year with no problems.

1 pointHey guys well I was told about this yesterday by someone on the site. Once I saw how much we had we just had to look at it. My dad purchased all of this stuff. There are about 22 tractors I belive and a bunch of nos parts! Make sure to see the pic of inside of the trailer. That is a 30 ft enclosed trailer and you could not fit one more thing in there. Not to mention there are 8 more tractors we are going to have to make another trip for!. There are 3 lawn rangers, 3 rj35's, .a ton of suburbans, and a couple round hoods, a commando 8 and a a800 ranger. We will probably be holding on to most of the suburbans and rj stuff and be selling the newer tractors There is a stack of mower decks we have to go and get too. Here are some pics. Can't wait to get home and unload it all and see everthing we got! ~Jake I have a few more pics I'll try uploading photobucket doesn't seem to like me LOL

1 pointNew to the Wh garden tractors..I bought a RJ 58 from what everyone tells me.Ive had two collectors to tell me if was indeed this but one says my deck is wrong..It has a square deck and the covers over the gears are square, The tranny doesnt have any numbers on it. One of the guys says its an early 58 with the RJ 35 deck.I dont know. The collector that (knows it all) offered me 5 times the money that I paid for it.My thought is why offer that much for something that in his mind isnt right. I do have pics on my phone but cant get them to computer. The little tractor is neat and I really dont think the guy I bought it from knew what he had..It is in very good shape and I wish I could post pics but I cant.I could send pics by my phone if someone wants to see..Thanks PS I have 6 round fender john deeres and the old original cubs and I do pullers from cubs but this little tractor would have to be my pick of all.It starts and runs and is drivable but man is it small

1 pointWe have an Apple Festival each fall in my home town, and when I asked a friend of mine who is the Apple Festival President who this years entertainment was and he Replied The Kentucky Headhunters, I just about fell out of my chair. Not only am I a fan, but also if you are a long time subscriber to LAGC(T) you will know that the drummer Fred Young is a Lawn and Garden Collector ant Enthusiast, and LAGC did a feature on him in Jan/Feb 2009. Well Knowing that they would be performing Friday night, I contacted their buisness office and asked in my message if Fred would call me, and asked if he would like to see my Wheel Horse Collection while he was in town. I recieved a call back from Fred's Brother Richard Young, and he gave me Fred's E-Mail, and said that would be the best way to contact him. We made connection by E-Mail and he said he would call Friday afternoon when he was Awake. (they left friday morn from KY at 12:00 a.m Musicians sleep durring the day as they perform at night). Fred gave me a call at 3:00 pm, and we hooked up at 3:30 and I went to their Bus and Met Fred and the band his brother Richard Young, Rhythm Guitar, Doug Phelps Base & lead singer, And their cousin Greg Martin Lead Guitar. Fred showed me pictures of all his tractors and home. After that we walked to my house (which is actually about 400 yards from their Bus). We then hung out at my Horse Stable for about 3 hours and had a great time. I showed him my Stable, My collection and my hauler. Fred is a wondeful person, and really loves tractors. We talked about everything from A to Z and he was really Taken by the New Snow Chucker, and he even gave me some painting tips. Those 3 hours flew by in a blink of an eYe. I gave him a few WH Goodies A few Jars of Apple Juice, and MJ set him and the band up with some of Her Famous Baked Goods. Around 9:00 pm we watched them perform and they brought down the house. After their show, MJ I and my granddaughter Henny hung out with the band at their Bus, and Fred had their PR guy give us Hats T Shirts and the band signed them and then he gave Henny a set of signed Drum Sticks! You talk about a wondeful afternoon and evening, I had the best time of my life. It just goes to show you, Ya meet alot of great guys in this hobby. Fred has invited me and MJ to his place to see his collection from what I have seen by pictures he has a heck of a collection 30 cubs, Wheel Horses, a Shaw Du All, Bollens and many many more Looks like that will be a nice Road Trip. Here are some pics of his visit. Cheers ~Duke Below is a link to one of their Videos Â

1 pointI've been wanting a sprayer and finally found one at back in April at the LeSueur spring swap meet. This is not a Wheel Horse sprayer, nor is it your regular stamped frame from the hardware store kind either. Wetherell is a company in Iowa that makes field cultivators (explaining the cultivator wheels) and field sprayers. The frame on this thing is made completely of welded steel tube and angle iron. Same grade and thickness as you'd find in a field cultivator. I called the company to see if I could get a copy of any sort of owners manual for it, or any information as to how many were made or when. Well, it took a few phone calls, and I ended up speaking with the founder of the company, Mr. Wetherell himself. Said they made a few of these back in the late 70s/early 80s and there were no manuals. They weren't even official production (so he didn't know how many they made either, but it wasn't many.) They were all custom jobs built when a customer asked for one! Said he made one for himself, still has and uses it at home. So... not a Wheel Horse sprayer.... but I think this is definitely their quality, and wouldn't be too hard to believe if I throw some WH stickers on it! As I brought it home. (booms already removed) I took the boom arms off, and pitched the hoses and nozzles. I also tested the pump to see if it worked. It did. Went to Fleet Farm and bought new hardware, hose, nozzles and tips, then in true form, it sat for 4 months. I had it stowed away in the garden shed I built over the summer, and then this fall it occurred to me that I should probably winterize the pump so it doesn't get ruined in winter storage. Since I had it out, I figured what the heck... wire brushed for a while, primed and painted it while I was at it. Well, this weekend I finally started putting it all back together. It was nice out, and I wanted to make sure and get this out of the garage again before it gets cold. I got most of it plumbed with hoses, nozzles and tips. But it's not finished. Still need to get a new valve and sediment filter for underneath the tank. I didn't realize the originals were as bad as they are until I took it apart to paint it. Should have known, based on the rest of the sprayer... but didn't look. I'm also still trying to decide how I want to wire it. Might be cool to wire it to a cigar plug and use the on-board lighter to power it, but then I wouldn't be able to pull it with a round hood if I wanted to. Will probably be spring clamps for the battery terminals to keep it universal. I also need to find a waterproof on/off switch to operate the pump. I blackened the gallon marks on the tank to be able to see them better. This is a 30 gallon tank. booms up booms down. span is about 8 feet wide. (still need to finish the underside plumbing before I can test it to see how wide the spray pattern is.) A close up of how the spring loaded boom part works. You grab the far end of the boom, and pull back. That moves the boom arm outside that welded square, and you can rotate it down until it hits the other tab which holds it horizontal. I had to buy longer springs and cut them down to find the right size. The hose naturally lays on top, but I moved it under just to show this detail. Normal up position, the hoses just roll out of the way.

1 pointI think it looks pretty cool with the front end the way you have it. I'd take TT's advice though. I wouldn't shy away from a 4 speed pulling, just make sure it is a 4 pinion rear and not an 8. Don't worry about the police. IMHO, I'd rather see a mutt being built, than it all going to the scrap pile. Good luck with it.

1 pointIt's not easy to see, but I used three Sears wheel weights per side as spacers for the duals on my 704: A "borrowed" picture of the weights:

1 pointWell she is only 22 yrs old and last month in Portland,Ind was the first time she had ever rode a tractor in her life and it was a 310-8. She wanted a tractor that she could "fix" up but i knew if i got a old rusty one it would still be rusty 10 yrs from now. I think one of the reasons it was such a shock was she saw it listed and she was going to buy it as a early birthday gift for me. I told her keep her money and find something older and more rusty for me haha. Im very slowly turning a city girl into one of those rare tractor girls. Hahaha
