Well, it has been done Squonk... and I bet you could do it too. I know Stevasaurus used his snow blade to push leaves to the street last year. He said it worked great. We all use our Horses for unorthodox tasks at times. You should get a video of blowing your leaves to show how well it does.

I'm using quarts of Rustoleum Regal Red on the entire tractor & motor. I mix the paint with a 50:50 ratio of acetone/paint and also add 1oz of Valspar Enamel Hardener to 20oz of paint/acetone mix. For the motor I used the Preval Sprayer but for everything else I am using a HVLP top fed gun. I sprayed many of the other body parts today so more pictures soon. I really really hope to finish this project within the next 3-4 weeks - as long as that hydro pump works!! More info on the paint I'm using.

My grandpa always said "If you got a hot spring and summer? You get a cold snowy winter, been like that since I was a kid. You kids don't even know what winter is. Look at them crows, see em' bunchin up? Snows comin' early. Cripes, look around ya' boy". Then he would swear at me in Czech. Never knew what he said but, I'd bet it wasn't good. Then he'd ask if I wanted to go fishing. I sure miss him some days.

I use a section of clear fuel line so I can see if fuel is sitting at the input to the carburetor or not when cranking. If the fuel is there and it does not fire then it is not a fuel delivery problem. It seems that the fuel pumps get weak on the older engines and allow the fuel to drain back. This is an example of the use of the clear fuel line and a shut off on a D-160 to prevent drain back if the pump is weak on this engine.

Now this is what I am talking about...Groundhogs Day 2 years ago. Open up that garage door and look at a white wall. Fantastic. Here is the snow removal crew...still ready from last year...

Steve, I know its not brain science but the guy at our local nursery said that do to our dry summer(some places alot worse than others), to make sure you keep giving plants, trees and especially evergreens lots of drinks now,not later, so they have a good chance of surviving through the winter and looking good next spring. sounds simple but people sometimes forget. Just my 2 cents by the way, I'm not looking forward to winter cuz I can't work and play with the tractors :banghead:

OK, let's play marketing "what if". I'm going to manufacture GT tractors. The sell price is $3000. As a manufacturer, I have 2 choices on how to mix the $2000 of material / labor that will complete the tractor. I go the Made In the USA route. Labor / benefits / admin demands require $1200, leaving me $800 to spend on materials. Forget welded angle iron and cast iron parts - for the parts money available in the build, it's all stamped parts. 1 year warranty. You can get it fixed anywhere as all parts are common with just about every other product offered. The second choice is adequately welded / bolted angle iron, powder coated sheet metal hood and that overall nostalgic look you like. $1800 in materials and $200 in labor. Of course, no Made in the USA sticker on this one. But you do get most of what you want and I still get my profit margin. 3 year homeowner warranty - we send you the parts from country of origin- you fix it. So which one do I build? and how many?

i really like all my horses,i bought a new one in 1986,still have her,but i dont think i would spend that again, yes they are worth every pennie, but for 6000 grand i could buy a life time of used horses and still go on holidays

and that sums it up very well - we are all "restorers" of old iron and very, very rarely buyers of $10K tractors (new or used). We have sandblasted and E tanked away our voice and influence over the years and are no longer taken seriously when we ask anyone to produce an inexpensive. long lasting machine with great capabilities. Every feature asked for in the above posts already exists and is easily obtained on used Deere ,Ford, Kubota and Yanmar equipment. If you aren't willing to spend $8 - $10K for that type of equipment, you most likely do not REALLY need CUT capabilities. No pay - no play. And just wait until genetically engineered grass hits the market. Only having to cut your lawn twice a year will be a game changer. 312H - great topic you started - but I'm afraid the answer to what WH would look like is really quite simple - just like everyone else!! But in red. They all have that same "happy to be anywhere" look. One bright ray of hope exists for lawn enthusiast. The design engineers at SOI U are busy perfecting our new "Eco" line of lawn maintenance products. Once they get the bearing lube specs down, we give the girls scissors and we go to market ! Our marketing slogan - "If you smell gas - don't look at us!"
