2 pointsWell its finally alive! The rj35 is finally driving. I got a clinton for it last weekend that is fantastic, starts on the first pull every single time!!! She still has a way of things to be done with it but sure am glad its going. I have a schnake for it, need to get the belt guard to fit, get a throttle cable, and the correct tank for it and put the brake kit on it. Pretty hard and scary driving it LOL no belt guard, no throttle cable, and no guard on the engine. Here are a couple pics of how it is now. ~Jake

2 pointsJust picked up a Wheel Horse 414h from a guy for $50.00 missing the engine but have engine my self for it. The deck is like brand new and the body in great shape. He was going to scrap it!!

1 pointJust picked up a C-81 8 speed and I've already put it to work. Have a real nasty swamp like field that needed some herbicide sprayed on it. My B-100 is at my other place about 4 hours away and the Toro garden tractor (I use that term loosely) kept getting stuck, even with tire chains. Brought the C-81 home, hooked up the sprayer and went to work. I have spots where the water is at least 10-12 inches deep and the ruts are brutal. This tractor walked right through everything. I love my B-100 and now I've got another horse in the barn...awesome. Don't know what year this is so any help in that regard is appreciated. I have what looks like the original owners manual that came with this and it's the rear discharge mower (which works great), but I don't know much else. My B-100 is a 1974 and doesn't look nearly as clean as this one but it is for sure a worker. Anyway, I am pretty geeked...again.

1 pointI like it! I have a lot of those parts. Not put together quite the same way, Like that seat, that doesn't have the water filled sponge! And my sister owns a Camry! I wonder if she'll suspect me?

1 pointI snow blow with a cab. Sometimes I go out with an insulated flannel shirt, shorts , sneakers with no socks.The only thing I don't like is sometimes snow blows on my ankles. Pissed me off.....

1 pointGlad to hear it's alive!! I actually like the look of no hood on it as well. Reminds me of my Suburban before I got it back together. I was pumped, and just had to plow snow with it. No throttle cable, guard...same scenerio. Gotta love it!!

1 pointJust a side note to your successful install ... You have added a sensitive piece of electronics to an older tractor. The condition of the battery becomes a player in the well being and long life of the tach. Lead acid cells are incredibly good electronic "shock absorbers" when attached to a power line like the 12 volts in a tractor system. Batteries at the end of their lives lose the ability to absorb electrical spikes on the 12 volt supply. Try to keep jump starting the tractor to a minimum, especially connecting / disconnecting the jumper cables with the ignition switch in the RUN position. Once you start adding sensitive electronics into the mix, it is better to charge the battery than to jump start the tractor. . If you are going to weld any part of the tractor, remember to disconnect both the (+) and (-) leads from the battery.

1 pointYou probably have your hub back on already, but in case you don't, after losing my religion trying to remove a hub from my D-180, I made sure I coated the shaft with anti-seize compound before reinstalling in case I ever have to take it off again.

1 pointThis one is held up a bit........this week is just flying by too quick. I hate when a good deal comes up on CL and I just have to go get it! The 500 Special is finally back from the powder coaters. Doesn't look too bad but a couple of pieces need to be redone! Hoping to grab my son and go over and help him put it back together. He asked tonight when he was going to bed if we could...........now how can I say no to that??????????? Pictures to come soon hopefully.

1 pointMy rule of thumb is this: If the tractor is all original and never been repainted AND the paint it is good enough shape to just clean it up and preserve it with a clear coat or light oil I will leave it as it. You can always restore it at a later time. I may repaint the wheels/tires and seat only. Once a tractor has been repainted (unless it was done a very long time ago) I would agree that a proper paint job would look much better. What i have an issue with is when someone takes a very nice clean original tractor and gives it a terrible "rattle can restore". I tell my kids "do it right or don't do it at all"..... The other thing that gets to me is when someone parts out a perfectly good and original tractor just to make a buck or two... (had to say that)

1 pointI can go either way. If a tractor looks fairly decent with its original "Patina" I leave em be. BUT, if its past that point where I think it would look better restored then that is what I'll do. 50 yrs. from now a restored tractor will have that "Patina" all over again and not a soul will know the difference, and by then I doubt anyone will even care. I came across the correct cops more than 10 yrs. ago when I was into Cub Cadets. I restored a Cub 100 that was trashed and I added a few touches that weren't stock. I spent almost a yr. restoring that Cub 100, for me that is a VERY long time. I wanted it to look as good as I could possibly make it. Yup, I blew at least a few hundred bucks on paint alone. I'm sure I had quite a bit more than a grand into restoring. I'd have at least a few clowns at each show I took it to come up and tell me what wasn't correct on my tractor without once uttering the word nice job. Pretty discouraging if you ask me. Personally, I couldn't care a less what one guy does with his time and money. Should I have not restored this?

1 pointI have the same Mackissick chipper/shreader that Lane Ranger has, I fabbed up a mounting bracket that fits under the front axle and into the front and center quick tach brackets to mount the chipper on. I also built a plywood box on a cheap Harbor Freight 4 wheel dolly to store the chipper and parts on, it's just the right height to make installation and removal a 1 man project.

1 pointi have gt1142 with a blower on it. got it set up last year but no cab. After one use i looked like a snowman so this year i built a cab.

1 pointLars...from the numbers that I could find...Model #79360 was used from 1994 until at least 2000...maybe the serial # would tell which year it was made? It is a 42 inch blower. Oh ya, an inch is about this long. ________ :) :) Nice blower mate.

1 pointAnother option is this. My buddy made it for me, and it pulls from the back of the hub rather than the thinner flange. No chance of breaking a hub- but it only works on those with room between the hub and case. For the hubs that have no exposed axle, there is no room to to mount it. For the ones that it will fit on, they come off with ease. Just an idea....
