I picked up a couple nice ones over the past few weeks, figured I would just make one post for all of them! First up is the 875 I got at the Portland Indiana show. It is a great running little tractor that fires right up and drives great, it has a 36" deck that is in ruff shape, but I have a spare. I have changed the oil, greased it up and changed the fluid in the hydro. I think this will be my weekly mowing machine. After a quick cleanup: I also picked up a plow and 55# each wheel weights at the portland show that I stuck on the back of my 68 Raider 10, I took it out to the feild and actualy done a little plowing just for fun. Next up was a real worker to go along with a tiller I picked up awhile back, its a 81 C145 hydro, it has a 42" deck that needed a little work. This is my newest Wheel Horse by 12 years and it looks like it will be a brute. it came with tire chans and a snow blade.

So I found this C-125 on CL, previous owner said he had problems keeping it running and his "mechanic" told him to buy a new mower from Home Depot. It looked real clean from the pics so I went to buy it. The tractor is extremely clean and well cared for, but it won't run (that will be in another thread). I got it home and immediatly put a tiller on it as it will be a back-up tiller for my side business. Here's a pic for ya. I don't know which looks better, red or silver. John

I've started to take my 701 apart and strip everything down to bare metal getting ready to have it painted. After doing the painting myself on my 867 project I've come to the conclusion that I would have this one done by someone who knows what they're doing. I'm having this one done by the local body shop. Yesterday I took the wheels to have them powder coated, hopefully within a few weeks I can start to put this back together. It will be nice to finally get one of my projects "done".

Every time I greased my front spindles the grease always works it's way back up and no matter how much I wiped it off it still shows up after a little use. So I started thinking of making some kind of cover. I came up with the idea of drilling a hole and tapping it (1/4-20) in the top of the spindles and bolting on some kind of cover. I made a crude little fixture to drill the spindles. Not pretty but at least it centered the drill and kept it straight while hand drilling. I found these stainless steel 'sink stoppers' at Menard's and they looked like they would do the trick after I cut the top off of them and drilled a hole in the center. I was able to cut the tops off with my Dremel tool with a little cut-off wheel. I also picked up (at Menards) some ¼-20 chrome bolts, chrome washers and chrome lock washers. I drilled the ¼â€ hole in the stainless tops using my lathe before I cut the tops off. (that way it put the hole in the center. The covers are just big enough diameter that they do not rub on the cast iron axle when turning the wheels. I thought I would share my information in case there was anybody who would like to do the same. And NO, I do not have too much time on my hands, just a little off in the head.

Time to repair and paint the leaking gas tank After the tank was taken apart I sandblasted both halves inside and out I wanted the inside done just in case I might need to use some tank sealer and the sandblasted surface would give it good adhesion The first thing was too remove a broken bolt You can't see the threads in this pic but I got the bolt out and didn't hurt the threads I also chased all the holes with a 8-32 press form tap New stainless 8-32x1/2" screws I'am using self threading because they have a built in washer 1/4 nut driver And the secret ingredient YAMAHABOND #4 also have new tank gasket #4452 from toro flat file all mating edge's check for burr's and besure tank bottom sits flat on tank top apply yamahabond to all mating surface's (tank top, tank bottom and both sides of gasket All bolted together I like using the nutdriver because I can feel what I'am doing better And tight is tight and to tight is broke 24 hour leak test half full of gas NO LEAKS primed for paint Done and Painted
