So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. The plastic Kings are nothing like the metal ones. Here's my 2414 compared to my 704

I picked this up a couple years ago. With the need to remove 20 or so dying balsams at the get away house its time to get to work. I used an old mule drive on the front tatchamatic. I was going to fab something to go to the mid hitch. Upon entering my shed i saw a 48" deck suspension sitting in the corner. It was just the right length!!! Picked up a scag idler pulley a little time with a grinder on some angle iron and the welder and BAM!!! Broke out the wire wheel for a quality "sanding" followed by Rustoleum IH Red. I was testing my newly acquired 1975 C 160. Aside from the oil leaks it ran fine.Probably ran about 3/4 throttle. The chipper takes 3.5" branches with ease. And most of this stuff is so dead the shredder hopper can handle 1.5" This was about a 30' balsam I limbed and shredded in 20 - 30 minutes. Beats either renting a real chipper or hauling all these trees to the dump. I have no doubt that this chipper will work just fine on my 312 as well. I couldn't be happier with this setup!!!!

Very nice $30 purchase! I bought mine for a little more but it was only used 3 times. Even though they painted them green this was sold as a Wheel Horse attachment by MacKissic as a Mighty Mac and they still make them on wheels with a motor attached. No longer as a tractor attachment. This was purchased new in 1973 for a Raider 12 wheel horse bought by someone in Indianapolis, Indiana for chopping up his garden plant waste and corn stalks. Here is a picture of th front piece that attaches in the front of the wheel horse to the two front holes in the tractor frame and then to the Mighty Mac hammermill chipper.

Mark the nests and leave them alone for the remainder of the day. After dark, once they have all returned to the nest dump a big pot of boiling water down each hole. Get it soupy and mix up with a shovel if you feel like it. Using the boiling water is safer in your garden than using poisons that may last in your soil for several days to months and be absorbed by the produce you are growing to eat. This works great for fire ants and yellow jackets as well.

There are some old threads on this problem, it's fairly common. These guys have mentioned all the basics, but you can try a search on "mule drive pulley" if you need some more ideas. I can't find the thread right now, but there's another method I used recently on one of my mule drives, with some major inspiration from Terry (TT). If I remember corectly, it basically involved removing the mule drive, nut and outer spacer, supporting the pulleys on blocks of wood, applying liberal amounts of PB Blaster to the pulley shaft, letting it sit overnight and coming back the next morning to gently tap the shaft with a rubber mallet. I couldn't believe how easily the pulleys slid off, with no heat/puller/grinder/chisel/cursing required. If I can find the thread I'm thinking about, I'll come back and post a link here.

Welcome to Red Square! Where are you in NJ? No prob. The most important part is lining up with the pto. These are all the photos I have at the moment. Its sitting in NY state so it'll be a bit before I'm back there. Once I had the mule drive on I propped some wood under it to get it level. And then set the mid hitch attachment in place. I had to cut one side of the 1/4" round bar shorter to accomodate the shipper. Good luck Kevin

There is a work around for the ignition system on the solid state tecumsehs. Eather a ford, GM, or chrysler ignitn system will work. I went the chrysler route!! http://gardentractor...om/ignition.htm there is alot of reading here. He explains everyting in detail and even tells you where to get your parts. I made a trip to my local junkyard and found all the parts i needed under 1 hood for like 20 bucks.

condo630 has an engine for sale. glen at the big show had a whole truck of teckys he was selling cheap said he was not going to bring them back. anyone know how to get ahold of him? j-dog also has a couple of hh100 teckys. they are out therenot to hard to find Jay

Welcome to the forum... Look for a replacement engine like a 12 hp kohler. There is a work around for the techy engine or so i have been told.

Find a good K-241 Kohler, change the wiring over for it and enjoy it for 30 years or so.

Good lookin 701! Your boy looks happy to be part of the show. Just keep your eye on thresher and antique tractor shows. If you are able the North Central Indiana Meet and Greet is a one day event and well worth the trip. Mike

In the interest in putting this information out there for someone in the future that is trying to identify pieces, I'll post a picture to show the difference between the mounting frame of a 1966 vintage RT-366 and the later "more normal" tiller mounting frame: The short one is from the RT-366 the longer one is the common later model one, courtesy of my favorite go-to parts guy Kelly.
