3 pointsHey everyone, here is the article that we ran in LAGT, Volume 3, Issue 5. A lot of controversy about this. Very interesting story though. Enjoy!

2 pointsjust go and make the neighbors JD or MTD key disappear..... woops that was supposed to be an inside thought Disclaimer, RedSquare does not condone or support the opinions expressed by its members
-
2 pointsBasically what they all said, and my 3cents is from now on use MMO in the gas, 1oz per gallon. Also 1 or 2 ozs in the engine oil. No more than 1oz per quart.

1 pointOk does anybody know about this colaboration between AMC and Wheel Horse in 74/75? I would gladly trade/sell everything I have Wheel Horse wise for one of these :hide:
-
1 pointThere a couple of hundred pictures of mostly Wheel Horse garden tractors, doing pulling in Denmark, the people, the beer, the buildings and tractors are all very interesting to view: www.WheelHorse.dk . . . (open the "Fotoalbum", then "Gammelstrup 2011", it's all in Danish but we can still read the pictures...)

1 pointThanks Guys!! Here is the story, I had my B-115 for sale and got a email from a guy. I called him up and he mentioned about having some Horses that he WAS GOING TO SCRAP! So he came out today with the tractors he didn't want and $100 in trade for the B-115. I now have a 1968 Commando 6 and a 1972 Commando 800, both need lots of work, but are very cool! The 68 is all there, but all torn apart. The 72 is togther, but the motor is missing things and has broken parts. My plans for the 68 are to make it all original and the 72 will have a different motor, hopefully a used diesel motor, but who knows. lol On to the pictures!! B-115 I traded When I got home The C-81 looking pretty! Craftsman I have for sale pm if interested! lol

1 pointI'm sure that won't be too hard to do. Green is the color of choice in my neck of the woods. That's why I was really glad to find this forum and such enthusiastic owners. I actually started off shopping for green. My local JD dealer was not very helpful since I wasn't looking at spending $4500 or more. He had a used 345 when I went there a month ago. Went there this past sat and it was still there. All the other tractors with it had been sold. He still wanted the same money, period and it was still outside. Uh, forget that. Still had four flat and rotted tires, etc. My Toro dealer was the complete opposite. He went through all of his used tractors and had the ticket showing what he did to each one. Plus he had most of them inside. "New" horse gets delivered this Sat. Pole barn is ready and waiting. That John Deere dealer probably did not put the JD tractor inside because he knew that it was not worth it! :laughing-rofl:

1 pointThat looks like it would be right up your alley Craig! That's OK, I've got enough AMC/ projects to keep me busy now. Would be cool to see someone else make one happen though.

1 pointI've always loved :wub:Jeeps (pics of my '79 CJ-5) and Wheel Horses and I've never seen this Jeep Trac before, but that is one very cool tractor! If they had marketed them and sold them I'll bet they would have moved a lot of them! Just look at all the Jeep stuff you can buy today like luggage and baby strollers. Thanks for sharing that picture! C-85

1 pointHere's a picture of the Wheel Horse Jeep Jr "Golf Cart style" and also the article that was posted about it 3-years ago. I really do like the Jeep Trac and would love to get one, or at least look at it up close, especially since I already am a Jeep person (naturally, my Jeep is in Candy Apple Red).. Only 3 prototypes were made in 1978, this one was for sale in '09. AMC acquired Wheel Horse, from 05/74 to 01/82, and then TORO took over in 1986.

1 pointLooks easily achievable with virtually any model...all you need is a little custom sheet metal work, and you're there. .
-
1 pointThey are also very useful for pushing broken down green tractors out of the way..... :twocents-02cents:

1 pointRooster....did you check airfare prices?...in 2010 I flew from KCI to Baltimore for 59 bucks each way then drove to Arendtsville....cost me more than that to drive to KCI and park for 3 days~!......back then we had Reagon as president, Mr Pond, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash....now we don't have any leaders and no hope and no cash

1 pointjust bought a couple 520,s one had 1100 hrs other 800 took both motors out shrouds off both were caked with dirt grass grease ect . took heads off cleaned carbon out valves needed a little cleaning cleaned carbs sea foam works great found loose wires bolts frayed wires ect inside flywheel was caked solid with dirt stator was really dirty cleaned it all up .getting ready to put them both in tractors soon before i pulled them out one motor was surgeing other smokeing a little i had same problem with many tractors in the past an got them to run smooth every time .mainly by just cleaning them up making sure you got good oil , premium gas, good plugs and wires . replace all bad wires , clean all fins soak carb parts in sea foam ,make sure starter is good . when you get the motor running after total cleaning choke out the motor with sea foam till it stalls wait 15 min srart it up it,ll run like a champ make sure your outside for this will smoke alot . also i talked to an ol wheel horse guy '' friend of mine '' on the 520,s they tend to smoke some an use a little oil past 1200 hrs this won,t hurt a thing it,s a horizontal motor rings are gettin a little worn but you still got alot of life left in the motor . you,ll know when the motors had it , but 9 times out of 10 some rummy dummy didn,t spend the time to do general maintence , basicly lazy , and riuned a 5,000 tractor . also the 60 in mower deck i,d dump it an get a 48 or 42 they work ten times better and easier to handle 60 in too darn heavy for that tractor , i dumped mine bought a new 48 and rebuilt two 42 . the 520,s with the gear reduction steering and front mount mower carrier work really smoth i prefer them over zero turns any day more comfortable . the 60 in deck tends to tear up the lifting arm under tractor and the front steering pin an plate assy . just too much for that little tractor buy a 48 in you,ll love it especially with a front mount mower carrier set up right their really smooth u.s.m.c forever semper fi

1 pointi had a scrambler a few years back. never got around to finishing it before i sold it. but once i started college after school all my money went towards tuition so i ended up selling it. here is a picture of it when it sold that gladiator concept has been around for a while. not sure if jeep will ever put it in production though. there is actually a company who makes a kit to build those out of the jeep TJ (wrangler from 97 to 06) the company is called AEV and here is a picture of the "kit" truck you can build and you can't forget my favorite jeep truck. the CJ10. they weren't really found in the US as a truck but rather as a "tug" to move aircraft around on military bases. the tug was called a CJ10a which you can still find floating around the US. i have a friend who has 2. CJ10 (predominately found in Australia) CJ10a as you can probably tell now I'm a bit of a jeep buff. i'm on my 4th jeep at the age of 21 haha. here is my newest edition. this replaced the scrambler that i had to sell. it needs some work but it will be a fun toy :)
