I was at a local swap meet last weekend and picked up these 2 and a half wheel horses I had already had the RJ35 pre purchased before the swap meet but the 550 was one I just happened to come across as I was getting my RJ58 half tractor hauled out to my vehicle. The RJ35 has a clinton engine and is complete for the most part it won't take much to get it going, the 550 was a surprise to see that is was complete and original except it is missing the exhaust shield it still has the original lauson 5.5hp engine but it doesn't turn over so I think it will be getting pulled out and rebuilt most of these older nut roasters I have been getting are usually missing parts or in mid restoration when I get them so I was happy to get an unmolested one with the correct mowing deck and engine. You will notice from the pictures that the trailer is full of horses....3 wheel horse garden tractors and 2 troy bilt horse garden tillers. I also picked up some misc RJ parts, a bunch of kohler k90 and k91 engines, a k141 with tilly updraft carb, wheel horse tires/wheels, and much misc.

OK. Need help figuring out what year and model this one is. I found it in the same building as the RJ-58 I am restoring (). Obviously the steering wheel is not original and it is missing a WHOLE LOT.

I'm new to the Wheel Horse world after inheriting a 1989 520-H with tiller, snow plow, and mower deck. I recently found an RJ-58 in an old shed under a bunch of junk and luckily acquired that one too. Now I'm restoring it and am looking for a heat shield, front wheel(s), and I would love to get my hands on a toolbox/fender assembly for this thing. Any tips you have for me I'm all ears. Thanks.

Just picked these two up for a few bucks, but They are missing the numbers so I don't really know what they are... Could anyone give me any idea of what they are and what they are worth? They need tires, but after a carb clean, the horse will run. The bolens doesn't really have any compression so it will take some more work. horse has a deck I have to go pick up, and the bolens has a back blade. Any ideas so I know if I did well on the purchase?

made my own 3-point cat 0 on my 520-h works like a dream got my ideas from steve bo,s pictures got to fab in up the pieces took about a week getting the right throw in the arms was alot of fun but works great when you get the kinks out that single hyd cyl on the 520 h is stronger than you,d think the d series tractors got a great 3 pt system an pto but that,s got to be a relic c 195, an gt 14 s are nice but have their own separete attachments 520,s will handle it all if you set it up right plus parts still available through toro an ebay an they steer great

If you a looking for long term reliabilty, low cost, low maintenance then do not use Lithium Ion/Polymer. Cellphones/laptops are almost a throw away commodity and the small density, fast charge/discharge characteristics are perfect. Scaling this up to the energy density of a 33Ah 300+ CCA is cost prohibitive - you do save weight and space by a huge factor, but the charge circuit is more complex. On a slight plus, 4 cells in series give 14.4V so good enough for starting and close to the standard charge rate. I find it difficult to believe* without some research that they can be directly substituted - Lithium Ion is extremely sensitive to over charge/ over discharge, etc A new RR could be built to support this, but you could not use the battery as the main capacitor smoothing out the rail, so the electronics become more complex requiring full wave rectification, smoothing and then linear regulation of both voltage and current. That doesn't mean that you cannot connect it directly to an existing regulator charge circuit and it won't work, but I would not recommend it - way too easy to go outside the safety margins that Li-ion need... I'm intrigued though so happy to hear any good stories or experience !!! and for those interested yes look up Lithium Ion battery fires - lots of laptops, phones, ipods, models cars/planes.... mark * (I've been working on cell phones/mobile devices for the last 9 years)

Yo Man' ! You wield a mean set of Smileys Craig!.......and get results .............Great concept of the Signage for spreading the word. Also wondered if Usernames could be added to them (or on Hats) ...You'll know them before you see them face to face!.( unless they've swapped hats for a laugh)

I know exactly what you mean Martin! I have an entire fleet of vehicles, and equipment that I am in charge of, and to say I've been getting a little behind on my duties would be putting it mildly. I thought I'd gotten past the time in my life where I suffered from addictions, then along comes REDSQUARE, and now I find myself one again suffering from an addiction, and spending much of my time talking to others with the same addiction! Hello, my name is Matt, and I'm a aholic! Matt :flags-texas:
