Hey Steve! Lake Shelbyville is hot right now for Crappies! No lunkers - our biggest was a little better than 12" - but minnows are producing anywhere from 3 to 18 FOW. Here's a stringer with one of the guys in our group...there were three in his boat: 15-fish per angler. 10 over 10", 5 under. Dad and I limited out both Friday and Saturday. Among all the guys in our group over the span of a few days we kept 637 keepers. Get down there Steve! Steve

I had 3 of my 603 Specials out and about today. These are one of my favorite Models. They are all pretty much different right out of the factory in 1963. I put a used Tecumseh recoil on the one 603 and a NOS muffler too. I haven't got it running yet. Original owner was an old man who lost his storage on this one.

I had a bunch of tractors out of the barn today. Got them all lined up and ready. I wrenched on the 603 Special with the bar lug tires. Put some good parts back on it from the parts shelf. Nice day outside finally! Keith

Hi Everyone, well after about 6 months of work the JD 60 is basically done. I am still debating whether or not to put a stack on it,if I do it will be like the one on the 401. Well Here are some pictures. Jake next to the 401

I considered doing something similar a while back but while looking for the moldboard I ended up getting a SS12 with the 3pt, moldboard, tire chains and metal wheel weights for $100 so started buying Sears tractors too. They are stout tractors just like all brands from that era.

well you can see whats more important to me, working on the horses all the time,(i think thats obvious thats getting done), or residing the house, or finishing trimming out a bedroom that i havent worked on since the beginning of the year.

The seat springs do improve the comfort as well as solving the "big seat on a narrow fender pan" problem. Still not as comfortable as the seat set up on a 520, but a lot easier on the back than the solid mount. (says the kiwi who just returned from yet another trip to the chiropracter...

This tractor is now safely tucked away in my garage. I have wanted a 520 for many yrs now and I finally have one! Let the headaches begin! LOL! I got it home and the first thing I did was clean the ancient mouse nests out and give the entire tractor a good cleaning and I buffed it out. The paint came back pretty nice though I'll have to touch up a few area's where the paint is known to peel. This will be my worker so I'm not going to get carried away with it. It was nice getting to meet member Steve in Milford Mass. Super nice guy. I will posts pics tonight in a new thread. My computer at home picked up a nasty virus, I would have posted pics yesterday but I don't think the wife has fixed it yet.

Hi Bo Dawg, It is possible that the Outer Cable has loosened off at the Clamping point on the back of your lever . The cable movement when you close the Choke(on) draws the inner cable towards the Dash and the Outer hits the Clamping Plate. When you want to Open the Choke (off), the Inner Cable moves together with the Outer...thus no action. I suspect you'll need to access the back of the Dash and clamp the Outer back onto the Lever bracket with some Pliers. Thats all I can think that is causing your problem. Regards
