I for one donated and this is not the first time, I was a Charlotte when the tractor made its first hasty debut and donated 3 times that weekend.... That being said, My family just scrapes by on my salary my Fiance sells tires at Sears and just got her hours cut again to 9 hours next week. I personally would like the one chance for everyone because I hate entering drawings and seeing the guy with the deep pockets who buys 200 tickets win every time. (who btw spends more in tickets then its worth) If you want to buy more then one ticket just to say I donated more then just make a strait up donation and buy your own copy. Let us little guys have a chance!

I just picked up this tractor today locally. Vintage Wheel Horse tractors are extreamly rare out west. I'm in Colorado. The gentleman i purchased it from has had it since 1961. He only used it to snow plow his drive. Best I can tell, it is an RJ-59 model based on some of the later features. Serial number is 20,3xx (can't read the last 2 #'s). It has the clinton motor in it, which the block is painted a blue/gray color and the cover is red. See attached pictures.

We had a conversation on the "old" Red Square site about this same issue. As I remember, there was debate as to if it was a mechanical issue bogging the engine or an electrical issue just shutting down the ignition circuit. In your instance, and in my opinion, the white smoke is the show stopper here. It is the most significant issue you currently have on the tractor and you probably should not consider mowing with it until your "bug fogger" turns back into a tractor once again. So here is what I remember as the highlights from that discussion (maybe someone can point that post or even the owner of that tractor could chime in - for the life of me I can not remember how that one was resolved). Eliminate the mechanical part of the argument by disconnecting any belts from the PTO bell. Make sure the PTO bell spins freely when the PTO lever is not engaged. Restart the engine and engage the PTO lever. With nothing to MECHANICALLY bog the engine down, the engine should continue to run. If the engine dies, I would say the issue is the ignition system being shut down. I'll take a look at the schematics for your particular tractor and get back to you later this morning. If you have the opportunity, I would have you disconnect the kill wire from the magneto, run the engine, engage he PTO and see if the engine stills runs. Yes? Then reconnect the kill wire to kill the engine. Attach the mower belt back to the PTO bell, remove the kill wire, restart the engine and engage the PTO. Still running? Yes ? Then we have a safety switch / wiring issue. I'll post later regarding additional checks.

Hi Scott, thanks for your kind words and thanks for following this build through it's ups and downs. All you fine chaps have been great and I really appreciate all the comments, advice, and enthusiasm for this build over the past 2+ years, it's kept me going when times have been hard and when the lathe work has got really boring Not many loose ends to tie up now, it should all be tied up by tomorrow evening (Fingers crossed). Nope.. I managed to order the wrong wheel to wheel drive belts as well , it was easier (cheaper) to fit the pulleys than order some slightly smaller drive belts.. I might get belt measuring lark worked out one day!! Thanks Mark, it was cool to catch up with you last night, my wife thinks were nut's for spending 3 hours in the shack chatting about Wh's etc Have photographic of Mark and the 6X6, and the always important hot beverage. Thank you very much Ken. If I have inspired anyone just to "have a go" at building/making something then I'm very cool with that.. Have a go guy's, you might be a natural or get addicted to welding Just a very quick update as this week has taken it's toll on me and I'm almost asleep at the pc.. Job's left to do before test drive.. Fit drive belt (it should be here tomorrow) Top up the oil in the trans and bleed the system (with wheels off the ground) Test the steering brakes work (nothing in brackets) Make a foot plate for the right side. Make sure the hood can't fall off. Have a restless nights sleep wondering if it will all work once on the ground! For those that need a video fix, here's part 25 which has some cool bit's with the engine running

I see the Jeep dealer has a 2012 model Wrangler in that color right down the road from me. Is it Safety Green, Go Green or Lime Green? Or all three?

I think it looks like alot of fun. I mean racing is racing no matter what kind of racing it is. It's in our nature to make a competition out of everything. Why not plowing the field? I always thought plowing was pretty boring until I saw this video. Matt :flags-texas:

Got the hydraulic fittings I needed to put the quick disconnects on. Brought it outside for some sun and testing. Just a little bit more to go and she will be done. Here are before and after pictures:

Was able to sneak some time in late last night and after working on the kitchen today. Finished restoring the dash panel and got the throttle and choke cables all hooked up. Picked up some NOS knobs to replace the stock "T" ones. I have to stop by SteveBo's house on Friday morning after work and take a look at the wiring on his 520 so I can make some notes and do this right the first time.
