Looks amazing Scott! The 18hp Kohler Twin Magnum is my favorite motor. I even prefer it over the Onan 20hp motor :hide:

I started out last summer picking up a 1990 520H parts tractor that had no rear tires, front axle, engine, gas gauge, volt gauge, hour meter, and no steering. The hood and fenders had a lot of rust pits, and paint was pealing off in many places. I got it cheep and wanted for a loader tractor. I already had the forward swept axle, and gear deducted steering, And as for the rear tires I wanted 26x12x12's on it. I picked up a good running kohler 18hp Magnum from Kelly and started piecing it together bit by bit. I installed one of Matt's foot control assembly's on it and painted the tins (hood not finished yet still in primmer). I got it running today and took it for a spin with NO hood on it as it isn't ready yet. I have to say that it is faster then any of my other tractors by far! and the pedal control is just SWEET!!! It works Great from slow to fast and centers when you take your foot off. I am so happy with the way this tractor is turning out that I may need to find another one to put the loader on It's a blast to drive and is so much easier to drive then my 96 520H with the foot control! I have worked on this tractor hear and there as not to brake the bank if you know what I mean. I got all the gauges to work but the tach. Still need to play with that a little more to find out whats wrong with it. I got some new decals from Terry coming soon and we will see how they look in a few days. Hear are the pics Look at the lift lever, I moved the control from the steering wheel to hear as it will have a 3 point on back. this way I won't get bumped while using the loader. Hydro motion lever is also removed

So last weekend I bought a new to me axle bracket to run a rototiller on my C 141. Well, I got the wrong one . The one I got was for the older rototiller and won't work for the newer ones. Let the hacking and whacking begin!! Well Originally I was thinking I would cut some sections out of the old and weld it into some new angle iron and pretty much Frankenstein it up. Then I got to thinking, well I have all these cool toys at my access why not use them We just picked up an Ironworker at my shop this past December and this seemed like a great use for it! So I fired it up and after a little cutting, bending, bridgeport work, and welding Here's where we ended up. I also have some pics of some of the toys at work. Ironworker A couple of the welders The new lathe (Not used on this project but still really cool) My tool box The finished product (almost) I ended up having to notch the cross bar after I had done pics. I made it to tall and it interfered with the trany case Let me know If it looks like I missed anything, Paul

So there are two sets of WH front wheel weights on E-bay right now, one set for $149 and the other for $200. I managed to buy a set for half of the cheaper set on E-bay from of all places..... a TORO dealer!! Today I was at the TORO dealer I use for parts, picking up stuff, and on a shelf were a set of used front weights with the complete mounting hardware kit for both the narrow and wide front rims. How could I say no! Just when you think your dealer is the most expensive place to shop this happens. I've been buying parts and even a tractor from this place for about 4-5 years now and the guys behind the counter and in the showroom recognize me so maybe that helped sweeten the deal since the sticker price is not what I paid. Now which tractor will get em... ? Mike............

Just wanted to say that I had a great time meeting Scott (whfan74) and his father in leesburg today.(Saturday) Talked and looked at tractors for a couple of hours today, could have spent all day their, what great people they are. Cant wait for the meet n greet in October at there place. Wanted to post pic's of my new, to me, D200 that I picked up from Scott and his father today. This makes my herd at three, 1-18 auto( being totally restored) , 1- D 160 and now a D 200. I will be looking for a D 180 in the future to complete my collection. Babble babble get to the pic's, here they are

Well I part tractors all the time, sorry but it funds my hobby, and I try not to part complete tractors but many are beyond rebuilding with out having another parts tractor or two, I have good running tractors here and no one wants to pay $300 for a nice running tractor that needs paint and minor tinkering, but I can sell the engines out of them for $200-300 if it was not for the demand for the parts I would not do it, but I get a dozen emails a week just from guys here wanting parts, so don't blame me, I'm just filling the need for parts, they could all be in the junk piles and no parts used off them.

I have been collecting wheel weights for a while from work, just seams to take for ever and they want to change that in a few years to steel. Too many lead weights coming off on the side of the road contaminating the ground they say. I see your going to be jamming in that snow chucker! How about a amp and some subs Nice radio though, where did you get it?

Nobody's worked up about anything. Obviously there is a market for the W/H brand. Maybe GlenJeri might want to consider whether it would be worthwhile to create a product such as this. I'll bet there are people on this site who would buy Wheel Horse miniatures.

Search his ebay history... you'll probably find where he purchased the snapper recently. He's been doing this for years. He buys a toy Snapper with cart (usually new in the box) for about $15-25. He puts some decals he made on it, and resells it as a Wheel Horse. It always sells, and I'd bet he always makes a profit. If the buyer is happy with the transaction...who cares? People re-label and repaint things all the time. Life's too short to get worked up about something as petty as this crap.

Yes I did, I raised it up 1" between the trans and seat stand so the fuel tank got raise also. I took two rear fender mounts for the front of the fender and welded them together so they would be at the right height. The solid 1" block under the seat stand should be a good spot to mount a 3 point top link to instead of the seat stand. I think it need a bath know, Dang it , the hose is still put away for winter :banghead:

My wife tells me that I have a problem called horizontal surface disorder. I can't leave a horizontal surface uncluttered. So what's wrong with that I ask? :confusion-shrug:

I pretty much agree. The late 60's and early 70's aren't too bad looking from the front but anything older than a 68 is butt ugly. I had an orange and white 1967 SS12 that was like it came off the dealers floor. I just couldn't handle how ugly the grilles are on the 67's, so down the road it eventually went.

I've had a couple Sears machines too. Actually two SS12's. From the rear I think they are awesome looking machines, but the hoods and front ends on all of them are so g-d ugly I just can't get myself to keep one.

To clearify I think the 310-8 had a much heavier feel than the Sears. The Sears had the rounded fenders and a horizontal techy. It may have been a 7 or 8hp so not sure the model... It was uncle Al's (Albert's Autobody) tractor...

Are you sure Uncle Bo's tractor was a Super Suburban 12? I think an SS12 will yank your 310-8 all over the yard. I've owned both myself and that wasn't my memory. Needless to say, it would be interesting to find out. Both machines are the same size, I'd almost bet a Super Suburban 12 weighs more. I have the 48 inch mower deck off my 416-8 all apart right now. I think a 48 inch mower deck off of a Super Suburban weighs twice as much as the 48 off the 416!

Going back 20+ years when I had a lawn business in high school I used a sears red/orange rider with the tecky. I bought it from my uncle who owned it since new and it looked just as good as the day he bought it (he used to park it on carpet in the garage and covered it with a sheet after cleaning it after each use). Needless to say it was a nice machine. One day I had some problems with the carb or something like that and had to get the lawns done so I asked dad if I could "borrow" his new 310-8. After using that to do the lawns it was like night and day in the comfort and feel. Kinda like driving a sub compact commuter to the feel of a full size suv. That is what I remember about the difference. It stands out in my mind like it was yesterday.

I've owned quite a few of them thru the yrs. They are pretty stout and the Tecumseh's that are on them are plenty strong and made to last. They'll push quite a bit of snow but I'm not a real big fan of their snow blade design. It easily lifts when pushing a load. Come to think of it, I've owned three SS 12's, two blues and an orange one and an orange Custom 10 XL. All were real clean and very comparable to a Wheel Horse of similar size.
