I remember seeing this before, might of even been a link on RS way back when? All I can say, I've drove an 8N with a step up transmission still powered by the flat 4 engine. With tractor brakes...there is now way in #ell I go that fast on an old tractor. I'll take Glenns scooter chair anyday. :handgestures-thumbup:

I did read maybe a year ago of someone who did this or tried to do this and it was quite a job. I do know there are very skilled people here that can probably whip one of these out with ease, but what I remember reading, it was quite a task for the average guy-IMO.

Try the reverse psychology method, say it isn't going to snow tomorrow, and see what happens. :popcorn:

You a[[ know somebody might take this a little too far. Here's something I got today A true story........... I stopped by the Chevrolet Dealership yesterday, for a look at the new Silverado 3500 pickup. Just for fun, I took it out for a test drive. I wanted to sense that new "feel." The salesman (a black guy wearing an Obama "change" lapel pin) sat in the passenger seat describing the truck and all its "wonderful" options. The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat. Feeling like messing with him, I mentioned that this must be a Republican truck. Looking a bit angry, he asked why I thought it was a Republican truck. I explained that if it were an Obama truck, the seats would blow smoke up your ass year-round. I had to walk back to the dealership... damn guy had absolutely no sense of humor. :auto-rally:

My Dad had a clock like this in his auto parts store back in the day. My brother now has that clock but I found one just like it for my shop.

A classic is a Potato lamp / clock. I took a serving tray, hot glued 3 pyrex cups to it (to hold 3 potato's) cut electrodes out of galvanized sheet metal (for the zinc) and copper sheet. Coiled wire nicely, then wired up a 3v LED to a 2 position knife switch all mounted very nicely on the tray. On the other side of the switch, I hooked up an inexpensive multimeter to show the actual electricity generated. If you do this, make your electrodes wide, as it's important to have a lot of surface area. Most of these they just use nails which will generate electricity for a short time then usually quit. Our electrodes were 2" wide. An added twist is to have fun using different fruit and veggies. Which fruit / veggie will generate electricity and why? Another fun idea is hydraulics. How to lift a heavy object with minimal effort.

I've seen the volcano done several times. It's pretty awesome. I had my kids make an electric motor using winding wire and a nail for the armature.

Here is my hot rod.I have changed both pulleys (8" engine- 5" Transaxle) it will run in excess of 25mph. It is not a Wheel Horse but this is before my W/H days. Many of you have seen this tractor here before. With this topic it should be included.

If you guys really want snow remove your plow or blower from the tractor.....watch how fast a snow storm rolls in then! Mike...........

I did that but the other way, I had a XI grader I made fit my 520 I had to cut about 5" out of the frame in the rear and reweld the cross bar back in, so you would have to add about 5" to the rear frame. other than that it was a direct fit, Oh the lift link I had to use off a reg. snow blade the XI one would not fit.

Here are a few pictures of my 1975 B-80 4 spd. The paint is original with the exception of the rims. The rims were bead blasted and powder coated ( contractor vanilla is the color that was used. It was painted by All Color Inc.) Everything is original. The motor was rebuilt. The paint is in really nice shape, so I rubbed it out with Meguiars mirror glaze #1 then #2. I'm going to use it as a worker. It's snowing here today, so I get to see how the plow works!

I have no garage clock...if I did I might no it was time to leave the garage!

Ok, this one's starting to go down hill, maybe we'll retire this while we can.

I got a cheapie infared tach from Harbor Frieght. It works quite well believe it or not. The hardest thing is getting the reflective tape to stick good. Brake cleaner works wonders.

If you have a good torch get the rear case red hot. Then hit it with the garden hose until its cool. That will crystalize the rust and the pin will remove easily. That is how I get the pins out and the hubs off the axles. You have to cool it as fast as possible. Works real good and won't hurt anything unless you bump the oxygen button.

Sure wasn't a Diaper max in the commercial, wouldn't have had enough power to get out Ford drivers had enough sense to get out of town ahead of time !

I watched it again, and I'm with TT on this one. I didn't see any Fords, they all got out of there (with the women and children) way ahead of time. Maybe the Chevy's didn't start and they were stuck there with a box of Twinkies... The Ford guys got all the beer and women and are partying by the beach!

I just love Steve's posts, I'll start thinking about something, ponder on it for a week or two and finally ask the question, and BANG! he comes up with all the answers just like that! Here's a cool rusty clunker laying in the back of the pile. Cool little RJ58 laying in the weeds for many years! I took the motor off years ago to keep in inside. I cut the weeds down right before this pic, it had a tree or 2 growing inside the frame! Hammerhead

Alright everyone thank you for the advice in this search. Dad went today and picked up his new to him truck. I am very happy that he can finally have a nice full size truck to enjoy. This is his first. This he said tonight with a smile is the new primary horse puller.
