Being the holidays are finally here, I keep seeing references to the feelings of joy everyone is experiencing from spending quality time with our loved ones. I've been thinking about my Grandfather a lot lately, though he passed away back in '85. I'd just to take a moment and pay homage to him by saying thanks for my love of husbandry, and tractors that I obviously got from being around him on his farm back in Venango Pa. during my youth. Although I don't own a farm now, I am entrusted with caring for one of our nations oldest military reservations, the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY where I am currently employed. A lot of what I do, working alone out in the field, I can attribute to the lessons I gleaned from being around my Grandfather working on the farm, back in the day. So I say thanks to my Grandpa for the memories and life lessons. Hopefully I can inspire you to share some of yours here too.

Hello to all, been off this site for months, glad to be back! I found and bought this super rare NOS 1958-59 Wheel Horse Stud. Front Weight, 60 Lbs worth of rare WH History! It came in the original box that was shipped from the maker, to WH Factory and then reshipped in the same box to the dealer who sold it to me! I tried posting a few pics of the box but the file was too big, go figure. This just hangs by 90 degree threaded studs(Stud. Front Weight)on the front axle of the early WH's with the straight axle. We have had two snow falls this week

Hello All, I ordered an Amish built 20x20 garage/workshop combo back in October and it was delivered and setup today. I can't officially move in with heat and power until AFTER its inspected... but my Nova needed a warm spot for the winter and snuck in. The Wheel Horse Acres sign was made by my father and I thought it looked cool on the front for a photo op. It won't stand up to the weather so it will be hung inside. I can't wait to start turning wrenches on some of the projects that have been honestly neglected around here! Happy New Year to All!! Tony

Why not make a custom taller version of the HL-5 light kit? It could be as tall as you wanted and it would be a bolt on/off piece so you wouldn't be stuck with it on all summer. I would think lights wouldnt last long mounted on the blower housing with all the vibrations they would be subjected to. Mike...........

Got a $250 dollar early style hood for it awhile back from Tim and Teresa fame, and a mint 3.5 hp Kohler motor to go on it. This is getting good!

Here the link...It runs again....The problem I have now is the points are sticking open at sustained high rpms and the tractor shutting off...( 1/2 throttle and above). Anybody know how I can get this damn thing to stop doing that. Its kicking my butt and I just want to be able to be able to count on this thing to run for 3 hours if I need it to. I have no idea about points at all on these things. I have set points on cars with distibutors before but that was many years ago and I bet this is nothing like a car.... I'm sure I will have a ton of questions once suggestions start coming in so bear with me guys.

Now bear with me as I have never videoed anything and this is from a small digital camera. So the rest of the parts are back from plating, the majority of them are for other tractors and/or projects, but some of them were for this build. Here I am filling the extra holes in the dash which won't be used and adding one for another rocker for the up/down for the plow. Here's a few pics. And here are the vids. Once again the decals, especially the dash one, really set it off. Terry does amazing work. The maiden voyage went very well, it's easy to steer, pulls strong (I did run the engine in for 18hrs as a break in prior to this) and after all the work was priceless.

One more Idea but this one may be tough to find a few years ago we had a company come in to demo a Dry Ice blaster. The idea is that once the dry ice has done it's job it simply evaporates and nothing is left but the dirt and a clean part, no disposal, no media in bad places, and best of all you can blast machinery in place with no diss-assembly. This part requires at least 30 cuss words to remove, but as said previously you have to take the entire assembly out, I think you can pop the spring in without removing the F&^%$@! roll pin. I think I ruined several drill bits transfer punches and anything else I could find removing the roll pin on my 655 when I restored it. Oh and the 655 now features a SS button rod now just in case.

I learned about working from both my Grandfathers, one was born in the 1800's and lived a hard life with very little, so I learned how to do with what you have, and not to ask for more, he passed in 1985, my other Grandfather owned a junk yard I grew up around junk cars and wheeling and dealing, he taught me about a $1 till I was in my 20's he sold me parts for my cars, I admit not much but never gave me stuff, till I was older, then he said life is not free, I tried to show you that, from then on till he passed in 1998 I got everything I ever needed from the junk yard, just had to put in some labor for Gramps, I miss them alot mostly the last one we were close in the end.

Interesting post Craig, thanks for sharing. All my Grandparents passed away when I was too young to remember them, and my own parents have been gone ten + years now.....between Christmas and New year I find myself thinking of them though, dark days and having family around make us all reflect I suppose. I see my 'job' is to try to give my fast-growing-up family happy memories of their childhood. After all creating memories is what life's all about. Happy New year to you.

That was the one I got from Ebayville. Had to outbid everybody else, it went for $285 plus $40 or so to ship it. Not too bad considering it is NOS and I had never seen one before! It sat in the guys inventory all them years! Good scarfing material. I did see one in the Redsquare gallery pics, it was painted white and mounted on an RJ58.....KJ

I really love my 417A!! its got great power, hydro lift, ok on gas compared to my Onen in the 520, and all my attachments I have will fit it. I know have 2 417A's , 85 and a 86 This is why this was my first choice for the hydraulic V blade. I would have to say that all my tractors are great, but when it comes to doing allot of hard work, My 417A is the first one I go to.

Well, no video's yet but I did get to do some work on it thanks to Terry (vinyl guy). I had some ideas and we talked about some possibilities and here is what he came up with. I think they turned out great. , Thanks again Terry. Here are some parts that were zinc plated. I should be getting the rest of them next week so it shouldn't be too long after that until it's done.
