DClark and his wife Terri stopped by today for a visit. He picked up that 5003 trans that I just cleaned up and got back together and he dropped off some parts for dlpaw (Daniel). We had a great chat over some coffee and Xmas cookies. Denny, always good seeing you. Have a safe trip back home, and I can't wait to see pictures of that RJ with it's new transmission.

Getting some good milage out of this pict lately, but I thought it applied to this thread too. Yes sir, that little guy is me(gotta be circa '64 because I'm a late '63 model)sitting there on my Grandfather's knee. Ned Arden Cole was, and is still the most powerful piece of farm equipment I've ever known. :bow-blue:

Someone sent me an email a while ago asking if I had these photos which I posted some months ago. I said they were deleted but I have since found them on my office computer, forgot they were here. I am posting them again if anyone is interested.

Hello to all, been off this site for months, glad to be back! I found and bought this super rare NOS 1958-59 Wheel Horse Stud. Front Weight, 60 Lbs worth of rare WH History! It came in the original box that was shipped from the maker, to WH Factory and then reshipped in the same box to the dealer who sold it to me! I tried posting a few pics of the box but the file was too big, go figure. This just hangs by 90 degree threaded studs(Stud. Front Weight)on the front axle of the early WH's with the straight axle. Great find on this baby! How's it look? Hammerhead

OK maybe someone will chime in then about the hydro units, I definitely don't want to ruin anything Zeig the HC Hauls Azz what you need to do is find a HC tranny that will solve the problem havent researched what is different but I dont think changing the pulley is the answer, ~Duke I'm thinking two extra teeth are the reason for the speed difference between H's and HC's?

I sand blast my heads all the time, Make sure to mask the spark plug hole well. I use an old spark plug as the sand tends to get into the threads and is difficult to remove. Or you can run a tap through the hole afterwards if you have one. I find that as long as I mask off precision machined area's with Duct tape (masking tape won't last) I can sand blast most anything, however cleaning afterward especially engine components must be very thorough. I actually sand blasted a cast iron carburetor the other day and it came out very nice but I had to spend a couple of hours picking out the grit.

523 DXI, and a Bolens HT23 or HT20d. I love the stance these old Bolens tractors have and their 'hydro-pedal'. -BK (Pictures courtesy of "Sam's Bolens.com")

Restored my dads tractor - just have too many good memories with it. (It pitched a rod when he was driving it - thank goodness - and during the rebuild I learned about the "Tecumseh H55 oil pump issue". Now it sports a slinger rod. Think the guys in Heaven read this?

How about my Grandsons first time working on an engine? 10 seconds later he smacked me square in the nose with the Wrench and made Pa Pa cry... TIP OF THE DAY: 9/16 WRENCH TO THE TIP OF THE NOSE STARTS THE WATER WORKS IMMEDIATELY!

Some might frown upon the modifications, but whoever owned that tractor needed it to use, not tote it around to shows on a trailer. If that tractor was in my possession, I would leave the transmission in it, install a K-90/91 Kohler , and get it moving under it's own power. If it works well, do a little cosmetic work and enjoy the heck out of it. I don't think there's anything wrong with having something unique that will stand out in a sea of shiny red tractors. Some of the best ideas and inventions came from backyards, garages, and farms...... and that includes Wheel Horse tractors. Just because it's not Elmer and Cecil's history doesn't mean that it's not worth preserving. :USA:

Looks good,You had to enjoy it a little before you redo it because once you paint it you will be afraid to even drive it at least that is how I am with my 401,Jake

I am planing on being there with my MTD 990. I don't have a WH that can pull a plow so I will be running the big orange Kingwood tractor instead.
