Just working on getting her started done a fair bit of work only to learn I forgot the fundamentals if tractor starting and don't have any spark any idea on how I can get it im assuming it's grounded wrong but I'm afraid I might need to buy a new magneto or solenoid 

It would be a great idea to compare your wiring to the manual for sure.  Is this a points ignition or a trigger style?  Original 14 hp Kohler?

Yes original 14hp kohler unfortunately I'm still learning so I'm not sure what style it is. I was unable to gain spark even after removing wire from the magneto so I'm believe it is either the magneto itself or the ignition coil any information on where to purchase and what magneto to purchase would be greatly appreciated thank you
