3656 3-terminal ignition switch for magneto ignition and electric start
No battery power to this switch. The switch grounds the ignition and starter circuits to control them.
Must be used with the original 3657 starter solenoid or a suitable replacement.
Originally used 3668 2-prong forked key?
The 3656 was originally a single wire switch but part number changed to 6890
Used on
1960 model 550
1961 model 551
A Napa and Prime-Line switch 7-01901 (5/8" mounting stem) can be wired to work with the original solenoid. Ground the B terminal and the body of the switch.
A Stens switch 430-144 (5/8" mounting stem) can be wired to work with the original solenoid. Ground the B terminal and the body of the switch.
A Cole Hersee switch 95510B (?" mounting stem) can be wired to work with the original solenoid. Ground the B terminal and the body of the switch.
A Rotary switch 31-7179 (5/8" mounting stem) can be wired to work with the original solenoid. Ground the B terminal and the body of the switch.

Magneto ignition with electric start 3656 with 3 terminals
(Threads 5/8"-32) 3-terminal 3-position keyed switch using 3668 2-prong key
Switch grounds the small terminal on the 3657 starter solenoid to complete the circuit.
