Not familiar with just what style seat your 312 is, but.... I have 2 1978 "D" series that the seats were really bad on and I didnt want to spend some $150ish on a seat. I had been seeing the ads for 'Temu' on the web (and seeing some 'not so good' reviews) but after seeing several ads for seats from $40+ and up to $70-80 I decided to gamble on one of the $44 ones. Well, I was VERY impressed with the seat and at $50+- with shipping and adjustable... YES!! I promptly ordered up another on at $70+- and again, very impressed with it. Granted, my old horses didnt match up to the seats bolt patterns but with some relatively easy mods I adapted them. Two nice seats for a little over $100 :handgestures-thumbupright::handgestures-thumbupright:

Thanks for the info, much appreciated. The seat on mine is clearly not an original but was modified to make it work. What mods did you have to make?

This is where these "cheapo" seats are lacking, unlike the more expensive ones that have the multi threaded points allowing ease in mounting, they have 4 threaded points - period, in the seat bottom -- IIRC the seat cross spacing was 7 1/2" - and 8 1/2" frt to back, with multiple holes in the sliders. A side note: it comes with hex head bolts in mm threads that - in my case - the head would NOT allow clearance for the sliders to move, but, a common 5/16 course thread bolt head will allow movement and threads right in the mm threads. Small inconvenience for for a nice cheap seat....

The 'D' models have a different set up over the other models, having a ... car rear type spring? and I had to drill 4 new/different holes as my mounting points were 8" side to side . If your seat is mounted flat then you may have to add a ... off set spacer?? to allow mounting.....

That doesn't seem too hateful. I thought you were gonna say you had to weld on brackets or something like that. I will keep this in mind...thanks!!!
