stevasaurus 22,229 #1 Posted June 10, 2015 Just thought I would share a few pictures of fishing on the Big Lake. The first one is looking east from Waukegan Harbor. A very hazy sunrise. Looking back toward Waukegan, abut 3 to 4 miles out in 45' of water. Fishing poles are set.We caught 11 cohos today...these are about 2 to 3 pound first year fish. The good eaters. They will be 4 to 6 lbs in another month. This cooler is 5 feet long. What a nice day.
Racinbob 10,270 #2 Posted June 10, 2015 Nice catch Steve. The water looks just about perfect. Fishing the big lake is just one of the many things I miss from living up there.

shallowwatersailor 3,213 #6 Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Just thought I would share a few pictures of fishing on the Big Lake. The first one is looking east from Waukegan Harbor. A very hazy sunrise. Looks like a decent day "in shallow water," Steve. I'll never forget hosting a number of co-workers (ironically from Maryland) when I worked for AT&T. I took them down to the lake one day just south of Waukegan. They expected to be able to see across to the shore of Michigan. They don't call them the Great Lakes for nothing!I would love to go Smelt fishing on Lake Michigan and Walleye fishing on Lake Erie again someday. stevasaurus 22,229 #8 Posted June 10, 2015 Michigan is probably about 70 miles away when you are looking across at Waukegan.
