I have a diagram for a 1972 Charger 12. That model has a solenoid. Can't help with a '70 unless the wiring is the same. Does your K301 have an external coil or a magneto?

Wiring for magneto version:

[gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,112]

1970 Charger 12 should have breakerless ignition if Kohler powered and solid state magneto if Tecumseh powered. Both wired as for magneto ignitions which are self powered so don't allow any battery voltage into the ignition. That would release the magic smoke.
