Voltage regulator Question

Recommended Posts

Im no good at much defiantly electrical, but does this look like a mess?

post-8378-0-62545300-1347421699_thumb.jp

The random green one goes to the positive on the battery.

The black one that is connected to the same spot goes to the cylinoid.

The lil red one goes to the key and coil so ignore that one. still have to find a good route lol.

The big red one with black blobs goes to the bottom of the cylinoid.

And the random shy green one goes to the front of the voltage regulator.

There is nothing connected to the spot where the ignition wire runs under.

Like I said im no good with this stuff, and this is how I got it. Does any of this look wrong, or maby look like it could have an effect on charging the battery?

that looks like its hooked up right. the far left (bottom in your pic) terminal is for lights, or 'load' so if you had a light circuit, that would be connected there. it also should be where the cig lighter connects, which you should have on your 1075 ( i know the 875 had one). on my tractors with the starter generator ( the big round motor that the regulator sits on) i run a fuse in that circuit to my load items, ie lights or lighter.....

heres a couple of pics of my setups.....

looking at the regulator, first terminal from the left is your L or load, (lighter, lights etc) second is the B or battery, third connects to the generator F terminal, large bottom terminal of my pic. the upper generator terminal (large gauge wire)is connected to the ignition switch start terminal and like you said, smaller gauge wire goes to the terminal underneath the regulator.

heres a manual on your model with a wiring diagram, might be of use....
